Trump announces meeting with Putin in Ukraine
Bishkek – 11:05, 23 December 2024 – The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, has recently expressed his eagerness to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to find a solution to the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict. This announcement was made during Turning Point’s AmericaFest.
Trump emphasized that Putin has shown interest in meeting with him as soon as possible, and he is looking forward to this opportunity to put an end to the war. He described the conflict as horrific and stated his belief that if he had been in office instead of the current president, Joe Biden, such a situation would not have arisen.
Reports have also indicated that Trump had sent a letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, encouraging him to consider peace talks and territorial concessions. In a statement on December 16, Trump urged Zelensky to prepare for negotiations with Russia to end the conflict. He highlighted his intention to engage in talks with Putin in order to seek a resolution to the war in Ukraine.
Furthermore, Trump mentioned that he may reconsider Biden’s decision to authorize strikes into Russian territory. The possibility of diplomatic efforts and negotiations between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine offers a glimmer of hope for resolving the longstanding conflict in the region.
