Trump Discusses Poor Condition of Hamas-Released Prisoners
US President Donald Trump commented on the recent release of 6 Israeli prisoners by Hamas, stating that the prisoners were not in good condition. Trump made these remarks while leaving the White House, acknowledging the captive exchange between Israel and Hamas.
“We have received a lot of news in the last 24 hours. We have received the prisoners today,” Trump said, describing the state of the prisoners as “shameful.”
Although the condition of the prisoners was not ideal, Trump noted, “We have seen them in worse conditions before.”
As part of the seventh round of captive exchange, Hamas released the 6 Israeli prisoners who were being held in the Gaza Strip. They were handed over to international Red Cross teams and then transferred to Israel.
On the other hand, Israel announced that it would release 620 Palestinian prisoners currently in its jails as part of the exchange. The move comes amidst ongoing tensions and efforts to secure the release of captives on both sides.
