US President Trump Returns to Washington from Florida, Discusses Additional Sanctions on Iran
President Trump recently returned to Washington from a weekend holiday in Florida and took the opportunity to address the press on the plane, discussing the current agenda. When asked about the possibility of applying additional sanctions on Iran, Trump confirmed that there are plans for more sanctions.
“We have several additional sanctions ready, including customs duties for Iran. If we do not see any progress in the coming weeks, we will implement them. However, we have not taken this step yet,” Trump stated.
He emphasized that the decision on imposing additional customs duties will depend on Iran’s willingness to engage in an agreement. Trump believes that it is in Iran’s best interest to negotiate, as it would not be beneficial for Tehran otherwise.
Trump expressed confidence that the Iranian administration will eventually agree to a nuclear deal. It remains to be seen how Iran will respond to the potential threat of additional sanctions from the United States.
