Tunnel Tragedy: 2 Injured in Horrific Accident
Two highway workers were injured in a terrible accident in the Bolu Mountain Tunnel on the TEM Highway in Turkey. The incident took place in the Istanbul direction of the tunnel, when a car lost control and collided with the workers.
The accident occurred around 11:30 am, when a car with license plate number 44 KA 895 skidded out of control in the tunnel and struck Highways workers Furkan D. and Selahattin T. who were working on the road. Other workers at the scene quickly alerted health and gendarmerie teams, who arrived promptly.
The injured workers were rushed to Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University İzzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, it was reported that their injuries were not life-threatening. Meanwhile, the driver of the car was taken into custody for questioning, as an investigation into the accident was launched.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the accident and ensure that necessary measures are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future. The safety of workers and drivers on the highway remains a top priority, and efforts will be made to prevent such accidents from occurring again.
