The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Reacts to One-Sided Statements on 1915 Events
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement in response to recent one-sided statements regarding the events of 1915, urging all parties to support the normalization process with Armenia.
In the statement released by the Ministry, it was emphasized that the one-sided statements made about the events of 1915 in order to please certain radical circles are rejected. These statements not only distort historical facts but also go against international law. The European Court of Human Rights has recognized that the events of 1915 are a legitimate topic for debate.
The Ministry highlighted that these prejudiced and biased statements not only hinder efforts for reconciliation between the two communities but also fuel radical groups that are inclined to commit hate crimes. Therefore, the Ministry called on all parties to support the proposal to establish a Joint Historical Commission and the ongoing normalization process with Armenia.
It is crucial for all parties involved to approach historical events with objectivity and respect, in order to foster mutual understanding and promote peace in the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs remains committed to engaging in constructive dialogue and cooperation with Armenia to address the complex historical issues and build a more stable and prosperous future for both nations.
