Turkey to Experience Rainy Weather All Week

Meteorologist Murat Acar of the General Directorate of Meteorology of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has provided information regarding the expected weather conditions in Turkey.

According to Acar, Turkey will experience rainy weather influenced by rain fog from the Balkans. He mentioned that the rain will fall in the form of showers across the country, with the Marmara Region being the first to experience rain from Saturday morning onwards.

Despite air temperatures being above seasonal norms due to the rain fogs, Acar mentioned that temperatures will decrease, especially in western parts starting from Sunday, returning to around seasonal norms. Heavy rains are expected in the Aegean Region and Antalya following the Marmara Region.

However, Acar assured that they do not anticipate extreme events due to the heavy rains. He also mentioned the possibility of snowfall in high areas east of Sivas, inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea Region, and high parts of Hakkari, Van, and Şırnak, but emphasized that major cities are unlikely to experience snowfall.

In terms of the weather in metropolitan cities, Acar forecasted that Ankara will see temperatures at seasonal norms starting Tuesday, with rain beginning on Sunday. Istanbul is expected to experience heavy showers on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, with temperatures remaining around 8 to 10 degrees. Meanwhile, Izmir will have rainy weather with temperatures above seasonal norms at around 17 to 18 degrees. Additionally, high humidity, icing, and frost are expected in the inner and eastern parts of Turkey.

Overall, the weather forecast for Turkey suggests a rainy period ahead with some regions experiencing heavy showers and the possibility of snowfall in higher altitude areas. Residents in these areas are advised to stay prepared for the changing weather conditions.
