Turkic States Join Forces for Unified Medical Information System

Health Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have taken a significant step towards enhancing healthcare cooperation among member states by signing a protocol of intent to create a unified information system called Türktransplant. The agreement was reached during the fourth meeting chaired by Azerbaijani Health Minister Teymur Musayev on Oct. 8 in Shusha.

In addition to Türktransplant, the ministers also signed memoranda of understanding to strengthen cooperation between medical facilities in member states. This move is aimed at improving access to essential medical services for the approximately 160 million citizens of OTS member states.

Türktransplant is set to play a vital role in promoting the creation of a unified health database and facilitating the exchange of medical data, organ donation, and transplant coordination among OTS member countries. The system will operate in accordance with the national legislation of the member states and the organization’s observers.

The implementation of Türktransplant marks a significant milestone in advancing healthcare collaboration within the Organization of Turkic States, ultimately benefiting the health and well-being of millions across the region.
