Turkey’s First Astronaut Alper Gezeravcı Begins Space Journey
Exciting news as Turkey’s first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, has embarked on a historic space journey. The Axiom 3 launch, conducted by SpaceX, took place at 00:49 yesterday. Gezeravcı’s first words in space, “The future is in the skies,” have already made history.
The Dragon capsule carrying the astronauts is scheduled to dock with the International Space Station on January 20 at 13:15 CET. However, an announcement from Axiom’s X account stated that the docking is expected to occur earlier than planned, around 12:19 CEST.
A welcome ceremony for the astronauts is set to take place at 14:30 GMT, and a special broadcast will be available starting at 10:30 on Axiom’s X account.
