Turkish Businessman Aziz İhsan Aktaş Experiences Asset Seizure in Breaking News Story
The investigation into the criminal organization allegedly led by Aziz İhsan Aktaş, which is accused of organizing tenders by bribing mayors and senior managers of municipalities, is ongoing, according to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
As part of the investigation, 40 suspects, including Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, have been detained, and an injunction has been imposed on the assets of Aziz İhsan Aktaş.
40 suspects have provided statements at the prosecutor’s office, including Mayor Rıza Akpolat, who testified for approximately 1.5 hours. Subsequently, 31 suspects, including Mayor Akpolat, were referred to the judgeship with a request for arrest, while 8 suspects were released under judicial control.
It has been reported that 1 deputy chief prosecutor and 9 prosecutors have been assigned to take further statements from the suspects involved in the case, including Beşiktaş Mayor Akpolat.
Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, who was detained as part of the investigation and was previously arrested and suspended for alleged involvement in terrorism, will have his testimony taken from prison via the Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS).
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working diligently to uncover any further details related to the case.
