Turkish company El Taban to open shoe sole factory near Tashkent
El Taban, a Turkish company, is set to revolutionize the shoe industry in Uzbekistan with the production of next-generation shoe soles. The project, in collaboration with San+One, has received support from Uzbekistan’s association and government officials.
Director of El Taban, Soner Ergül, along with Fakhriddin Babaev and Shukhrat Tuychiev of San+One, met with representatives from the Uzbek-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission and the People’s Bank to discuss the project. Following an agreement to establish a joint venture in Uzbekistan, the companies are now focusing on securing funding and land for the factory.
The $2.1 million project will be located in the Tashkent region and is expected to create numerous job opportunities while also making locally produced footwear more affordable. The factory’s products will be available in the domestic market as well as exported to Turkey and other European countries.
