Turkish company to form JV in Uzbekistan for shoe manufacturing
Turkish shoe manufacturer, Birlik Shoes Sole, is planning to invest $1 million in a joint venture with local partner Mexes from the Karmana district of the Navoi region in Uzbekistan. The joint venture aims to produce women’s and children’s shoes. The announcement comes after negotiations between the delegation of Birlik Shoes Sole and the leadership of Uzcharmsanoat association. The parties discussed issues of investment cooperation and the development of the leather and footwear industry, as well as conditions for foreign investors. Birlik Shoes Sole noted the growing attractiveness of Uzbek enterprises for partnership due to economic growth. This joint venture is expected to boost the footwear industry in Uzbekistan and create job opportunities.
