Kyrgyz Minister of Education and Science discusses cooperation with Turkish officials

On November 22, 2023, Minister of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan, Dogdurkul Kendirbaeva, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Kyrgyzstan, Ahmet Sadik Dogan, and the President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) of the country, Abdullah Eren. The focus of the meeting was to discuss potential areas of cooperation in the field of education.

During the meeting, Minister Kendirbaeva emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in education and proposed the idea of organizing two-week training courses in Turkey for teachers teaching STEAM subjects. Additionally, she raised the issue of translating Turkish books on STEAM subjects into the Kyrgyz language and adapting them for use in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Ministry of Education and Science reported that the proposals put forward by Minister Kendirbaeva received positive feedback from the embassy and YTB. Abdullah Eren shared information about Turkey’s scholarship program and stated that 50 grant places would be allocated for the 2024-2025 academic year for Kyrgyz students who achieve the highest scores on the Nationwide Testing.

The meeting between the Kyrgyz Minister of Education and Science and the Turkish officials signifies the commitment of both countries to strengthen educational ties and explore opportunities for collaboration in the field of education.
