Turkish Female Student Team Wins Award at US Robot Competition

Techtolia Robotics, from Tenzile Erdoğan Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, made history by winning the “Impact Award” at a regional competition in New York. This all-female robot team impressed the jury with their innovative design and exemplary performance, earning them a spot in the upcoming world robot championship in Texas.

The competition held in the Rockland region of New York recognized Techtolia Robotics for their exceptional robot design and their ability to overcome challenges throughout the season. As the only all-female team in the competition, they stood out for representing a model that other teams could aspire to.

Emrah Akdeniz, one of the mentor teachers of Techtolia Robotics, expressed his pride in the team’s achievements and highlighted the support they received from the school management and mentor teachers. The team is now gearing up to represent Turkey at the First Robotics Competition World Championship in Houston, Texas next month.

Recently, the Techtolia Robotics team had the honor of meeting Education Attaché Prof. Dr. Şamil Öcal at the New York Consulate General. They also had the opportunity to attend a program with Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, who congratulated the team on their success and expressed her pride in their accomplishments.

Minister Göktaş took some time to chat with the female students and even posed for a souvenir photo with them. The success of Techtolia Robotics not only highlights the talent and dedication of these young women but also showcases the importance of supporting and encouraging girls in STEM fields.
