
Turkish Interior Ministry inundated with over 6,000 requests following earthquake

After the earthquake in Istanbul, the emergency call center received over 6,000 calls, Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya wrote on Report informs.
“Our emergency call center received 6,100 calls. Most of these calls were for information,” the minister said.
According to the Disaster Management Authority (AFAD), an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 hit the Sea of Marmara off the coast of Istanbul at 12:49 local time on April 23, followed by aftershocks. The earthquake in Istanbul injured 151 people.
The earthquake has caused concern and panic among the residents of Istanbul, as the city is located on a major fault line. Authorities are urging people to stay calm and be prepared for potential aftershocks. Emergency services are on high alert to respond to any further emergencies that may arise.
