Turkmen Ambassador Meets with Gomel University Leadership and Students

Turkmen Ambassador visits universities in Gomel, Belarus

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus, Nazarguly Shagulyev, recently paid a visit to the leading institutions of higher education in the Gomel region, where Turkmen students are pursuing their studies.

During his visit, Shagulyev met with the leadership of the Gomel State University named after F. Skorina to discuss the possibility of expanding scientific and educational exchange, establishing scientific contacts, and increasing the number of Turkmen citizens studying at the university. A briefing was also held on the main theses of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, with the event being attended by university heads, faculty, and Turkmen students.

The ambassador also held a separate meeting with young Turkmen students to discuss issues of obtaining a quality education and active participation in the cultural and sports life of the university.

Shagulyev also visited the Gomel State Medical University, where he met with the university leadership and active Turkmen students. A round table was held on the topic of speeches by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a meeting of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan.

According to the Turkmen Embassy, there are currently 328 citizens of Turkmenistan studying at the Gomel State University named after F. Skorina, with 140 of them being first-year students. At the Gomel State Medical University, there are 135 citizens of Turkmenistan, including 35 first-year students.
