Current Issues of Turkmen-Chinese Relations Discussed in Ashgabat
A recent meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on March 11, 2025, between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Communist Party of China of Shaanxi Province Xing Shanping, highlighted the current state of Turkmen-Chinese relations.
The meeting emphasized the dynamic development of Turkmen-Chinese interaction under the comprehensive strategic partnership in various areas of mutual interest. Both sides discussed the main areas of cooperation and highlighted the high level of trust and friendship between the heads of the two states, which creates favorable conditions for the growth of interstate relations.
It was noted that contacts between parliaments and parties of Turkmenistan and China are actively progressing, with regular visits of political party representatives. The trade and economic partnership between the two countries was also recognized as playing a crucial role in strengthening the dialogue of friendship.
On the cultural and humanitarian front, the meeting acknowledged the established cooperation in science, education, cultural exchanges, and Chinese language studies. The reciprocal Days of Culture were highlighted as events that promote further expansion of humanitarian ties and enrich bilateral cooperation.
The discussions in Ashgabat between Turkmenistan and China underscore the commitment of both countries to enhancing their relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation in various fields.
