
Turkmen President Meets with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister

Strengthening Ties: President of Turkmenistan Hosts Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister
On April 28, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov of Turkmenistan welcomed Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Galymzhan Koishybayev. The visit was part of Koishybayev’s participation in the First Ministerial Forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation on Sustainable Development.
During the meeting, Koishybayev expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception he received and extended cordial greetings from Kazakhstan’s President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He noted his admiration for the picturesque city of Arkadag and conveyed Kazakhstan’s pride in Turkmenistan’s numerous achievements across various sectors. The Deputy Prime Minister also praised the exceptional organization of the ECO forum.
In response, President Berdimuhamedov welcomed Koishybayev and reciprocated the warm wishes to the leadership of Kazakhstan. He expressed hope for fruitful discussions and significant outcomes at the forum that would further regional collaboration.
The two leaders engaged in a constructive dialogue about the current state and future prospects of Turkmen-Kazakh relations. They acknowledged that their partnership is characterized by a high level of mutual understanding and strategic cooperation, rooted in a long history of friendship, good neighborliness, and shared cultural traditions.
Both nations have been actively collaborating across political, economic, and cultural domains, particularly in energy, transport, and logistics. Regular high-level dialogues and intergovernmental interactions have reinforced these ties.
Koishybayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s support for Turkmenistan’s progressive foreign and domestic policies and the valuable international initiatives proposed by President Berdimuhamedov, aimed at establishing transcontinental energy and transport corridors supported by the international community.
At the conclusion of their meeting, both leaders wished each other good health, well-being, and success in their respective duties, along with prosperity for the citizens of their nations.
