Turkmen Scientist Develops Eco-Friendly Concrete from Industrial Waste

Turkmen Scientist Develops Innovative Method for Producing Concrete from Industrial Waste

Meretmuhammet Hudayberdiyev, the Head of the Laboratory of Energy Production and Conservation and a candidate of Technical Sciences in Turkmenistan, has successfully assembled an installation that can produce seropolymer concrete using industrial waste from the fuel and energy complex. Hudayberdiyev, an employee of the Technology Center at the Academy of Sciences in Turkmenistan, shared details about his invention in an interview with a correspondent from ORIENT.

The key advantage of this installation lies in its ability to utilize sulfur, an element found in large quantities in oil and gas extracted from deep underground. For years, Turkmenistan has faced the challenge of finding industrial applications for this waste. Hudayberdiyev proposed an innovative method involving the use of a special installation to mix and heat sulfur gas and its mixtures. The mixture is then subjected to high temperatures, with pyrolysis products added and actively mixed in a reactor.

To further enhance the material, small proportions of quartz sand and crushed gravel are added to the mixture. Remarkably, the finished concrete can be obtained within a day. The properties of the resulting material have undergone testing and meet the standards set by the state.

Moreover, Hudayberdiyev highlighted the potential of using waste materials, particularly sulfur, with its optimal characteristics, in road construction, especially in Turkmenistan’s hot climate. This method ensures the durability and safety of road surfaces, protecting them from extreme temperatures and wear.

This groundbreaking initiative by Meretmuhammet Hudayberdiyev represents a significant accomplishment in the field of concrete production and waste management in Turkmenistan. It not only demonstrates the country’s commitment to innovation but also paves the way for more sustainable and efficient concrete production methods.
