Turkmen-Tajik Business Forum Held in Dushanbe
A joint business forum between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan was recently held in the conference hall of the National Library of Tajikistan in Dushanbe. The event was held on May 8, 2023, on the eve of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Tajikistan. The forum was opened by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan B. Atdaev and Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan U. Usmonzoda.
Over 250 participants attended the forum, including representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries. In their speeches, the heads of delegations highlighted the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan thanks to joint efforts and continuous bilateral visits. They also stressed that events like this contribute to the development of trade and economic cooperation, an increase in export potential, and the strengthening of bilateral economic and investment partnerships.
During the forum, presentations were made on the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan and the investment opportunities of the Republic of Tajikistan. The participants were introduced to promising areas of investment such as industry, energy, services, agriculture, logistics, transport, and communications.
Following the event, bilateral negotiations were held between the business circles of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan, leading to the signing of a solid package of documents. This forum has become a key driver in promoting mutually beneficial and effective areas of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation.
On May 9, a delegation of business circles from Turkmenistan will visit large industrial zones located in Dushanbe as part of their visit to the Republic of Tajikistan. This visit is expected to further strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
