Turkmendenizderyayollary agency hosts event celebrating Magtymguly’s life and work
The “Turkmendenizderyayollary” agency, in collaboration with the velayat Committee of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan and a branch in the city of Turkmenbashi, recently organized an event honoring the life and work of Magtymguly Fragi.
The event brought together employees of organizations under the supervision of the Turkmendenizderyayollary agency and students from the Maritime Secondary Vocational School in Turkmenbashi. Speakers highlighted the significance of Magtymguly Fragi’s work as a poet and thinker, emphasizing its importance for the younger generation. Magtymguly’s literary contributions have earned a place in the global literary canon.
In recognition of his legacy, events commemorating the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi’s birth have been included in the List of significant dates for joint celebration with UNESCO for 2024–2025. Additionally, the international organization of Turkic culture, TURKSOY, has declared 2024 as “The Year of the Great Poet and Thinker of the Turkic World Magtymguly Fragi”.
This celebration serves to honor and preserve the enduring legacy of Magtymguly Fragi, whose works continue to resonate with audiences around the world.
