Turkmenistan and Slovenia Hold Inter-MFA Consultations
On May 23, 2023, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Vepa Hajiyev, held a virtual meeting with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Samuel Žbogar. The inter-ministerial consultations covered a range of important issues affecting Turkmen-Slovenian cooperation.
The diplomats expressed satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations and exchanged views on the outlook for expanding cooperation in the diplomatic, political, economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields. They also discussed the upcoming 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 2023 and considered organizing several events to mark this important event.
The heads of delegations acknowledged the positive cooperation between Turkmenistan and Slovenia within international organizations, particularly the United Nations.
Regarding economic cooperation, the parties expressed the need for effective collaboration through the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. In addition, they agreed to intensify business contacts, participate in joint business forums, and explore ways of enhancing the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
The inter-MFA consultations between Turkmenistan and Slovenia provide an excellent opportunity for strengthening ties and deepening cooperation between the two countries. Both sides expressed their commitment to developing a strategic partnership that will benefit their nations and contribute to regional stability and development.
