Turkmenistan Delegation Visits the Philippines
The delegation of Turkmenistan recently visited the Republic of the Philippines, marking a significant step towards enhancing cooperation between the two countries. On August 3, 2024, the Turkmen delegation explored the Clark Freeport Free Economic Zone, laying the groundwork for exchanging insights and discussing potential collaborative endeavors.
During the visit, a meeting took place with the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to explore avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation. The Philippine side presented an elaborate overview of the Clark Freeport Free Economic Zone and a forward-looking project aimed at establishing a sustainable city. A tour of the Clark area provided the Turkmen delegation with a firsthand look at the accomplishments and initiatives of their Philippine counterparts.
The Turkmen delegation commended the ongoing project and expressed interest in sharing expertise in establishing and managing free economic zones. Furthermore, they introduced their Philippine counterparts to the new smart city “Arkadag,” which launched just over a year ago. The presentation highlighted the city’s key features, accomplishments, and plans for its next phase. The Turkmen delegation extended an invitation to their Philippine counterparts to visit Turkmenistan for a comprehensive insight into “Arkadag” and to foster closer ties.
These exchanges of knowledge and joint initiatives underscore the commitment of both sides to bolster bilateral relations and collaborate on economic development and infrastructure projects.
