Turkmenistan Among the Top Ten Countries Sending Students to Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan is becoming a popular destination for foreign students, with 71.7 thousand international students studying at universities across the country in the 2022-2023 academic year. Among them, Turkmenistan is among the top ten countries with 64 citizens pursuing their higher education in various disciplines.
According to data from the National Statistical Committee, more than half of the foreign students in Kyrgyzstan are from Uzbekistan, with 40.2 thousand students enrolled in the country’s universities. CIS countries, India, Kazakhstan, and Russia are also among the top countries of origin for international students in Kyrgyzstan.
Along with foreign students, Kyrgyzstan is also home to 22 thousand citizens from other states, making it one of the largest hubs of foreign presence in Central Asia.
