Turkmenistan Transport and Logistics Center boosts Belarusian potash Orient transit transport

Turkmenistan’s Transport and Logistics Center Facilitates Container Shipments of Belarusian Potash

JSC “Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan” (TULM), responsible for managing container transportation on Turkmenistan’s railways, is actively engaged in large-scale container shipments as part of the international North-South transport corridor. Starting in February 2025, TULM has initiated the transportation of potash fertilizers from one of Belarus’ leading companies, JSC “Belaruskali”.

To kick off the shipments, two test container trains have been arranged, each comprising 62 (40-foot) containers. The transportation route spans across Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Iran, with a stop at the Etrek station in Turkmenistan. Subsequently, the fertilizers are loaded onto ships at Bandar Abbas port in Iran for their journey to eastern seaports in China.

A series of eight test train shipments are scheduled, with a monthly transportation capacity of up to 20,000 tons. TULM envisions broadening the geographical scope of the route, aiming to dispatch container trains carrying Belarusian potash through the North-South corridor to ports in India.

The successful implementation of these container shipments underscores TULM’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and facilitating the efficient movement of goods between Europe, Asia, and beyond.
