Turkmenistan’s Activities and Priorities for International Year of Peace and Trust

Turkmenistan has taken a bold step towards promoting peace and trust on a global scale by initiating the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. This decision, which was made unanimously with the co-sponsorship of 86 states during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, reflects the country’s commitment to fostering dialogue and cooperation in the face of growing international tensions.
The resolution “International Year of Peace and Trust, 2025” is a concrete manifestation of Turkmenistan’s philosophy of “Dialogue is a guarantee of peace,” as articulated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. It aims to address the lack of trust and differing views on world order by promoting peaceful conflict resolution and collaboration among nations.
Turkmenistan’s vision for the International Year of Peace and Trust encompasses a range of activities and priorities, including the development of a Global Security Strategy, engagement in preventive diplomacy, utilization of neutrality for conflict resolution, and restoration of a culture of trusting dialogue. These initiatives aim to create a more secure and stable global environment by emphasizing the principles of peace, trust, and cooperation.
As part of its commitment to promoting sustainable development goals, Turkmenistan is also focusing on energy transformation, transport connectivity, global food security, accessible healthcare, and humanitarian support. The country’s efforts in these areas are guided by the belief that equal and mutually beneficial cooperation is essential for achieving global stability and prosperity.
Turkmenistan’s approach to the International Year of Peace and Trust is grounded in the principles of neutrality, inclusivity, and dialogue. The country is actively engaging with international organizations and partners to implement a comprehensive strategy of cooperation and to address key global challenges in a collaborative manner.
The culminating event of the International Year of Peace and Trust will be a major international forum in December 2025, dedicated to promoting peace and trust on a global scale. Turkmenistan invites all interested states and organizations to join in this initiative and contribute to building a more peaceful and secure world for future generations.
