
Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Adopted by Kazakhstan’s President

The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, recently visited Astana where he was warmly received by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev. During the meeting on February 4, 2025, the two leaders discussed various important issues related to the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Meredov conveyed warm greetings from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the national leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, to President Tokayev. In return, President Tokayev extended his gratitude and warm greetings to the leadership of Turkmenistan.
President Tokayev also congratulated Turkmenistan on the beginning of the international year of peace and trust and emphasized the importance of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. He praised the level of development of Kazakh-Turkmen relations and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to supporting Turkmenistan’s international initiatives.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the further development of political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between their countries. They also reviewed the implementation of previous agreements, particularly in the fields of energy and transport.
Overall, the meeting between Foreign Minister Meredov and President Tokayev marked a continuation of the strong and strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, fostering friendship and good neighborliness between the two nations. Both sides expressed their commitment to further strengthening their cooperation in various areas for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
