The Government of Turkmenistan and UNICEF Strengthen Partnership for Children’s Rights

The Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have solidified their partnership by signing 11 new work plans for 2025 with 12 partners. These agreements outline a shared vision for advancing the rights and well-being of children and youth in Turkmenistan, in line with commitments under the National Action Plan for the Realization of Children’s Rights in Turkmenistan for 2023–2028 and the UNICEF Country Programme for 2021–2025.

The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, where work plans were signed between UNICEF and various government entities including the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, and others.

These work plans will guide joint efforts to enhance child protection, education, healthcare, and social services for children in Turkmenistan. They also address cross-cutting priorities such as gender equality, environmental sustainability, inclusive policies, and evidence-based policy development.

UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan, Jalpa Ratna, expressed gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for their dedication to these shared goals. She emphasized UNICEF’s commitment to working closely with the government to ensure that these work plans lead to tangible results for children and young people.

The partnership between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNICEF aims to create a better future for children in the country, ensuring they have access to essential services and rights. By working together, both parties are demonstrating their commitment to improving the well-being of children and youth in Turkmenistan.
