Turkmenistan’s Growing Presence in the Asian Esports Scene

Turkmenistan’s Mekan Eyeberdiyev Elected to AESF Board of Directors

The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) recently held its inaugural elective General Assembly online, where Mekan Eyeberdiyev, President of the National Electronic Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, was elected as a member of the AESF Board of Directors.

The Assembly was a significant event with the participation of heads of national esports federations from various Asian countries and the Deputy Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Mr. Vinod Tiwari. This highlights the importance of the event and the focus on the development of esports at the continental level.

In addition to this, a new regional structure called the Central Asian Esports Association was officially established in February 2025. This association aims to bring together the efforts of countries in the Central Asian region for the advancement of digital sports.

Following the elective General Assembly of the Central Asian Esports Association, Mr. Mekan Eyeberdiyev was elected as the Vice-President, and Mr. Nazar Odemuradov, the Secretary General of the National Electronic Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, was elected as the Secretary General of the Association.

These accomplishments highlight Turkmenistan’s active participation in the international esports community and pave the way for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the promotion of sports initiatives at both regional and Asian levels.
