TÜSİAD Chairman Orhan Turan and YİK President Mehmet Ömer Arif Aras Face Charges
The Turkish Industrialists and Business People Association (TÜSİAD) Chairman Orhan Turan and the High Advisory Council (YİK) President Mehmet Ömer Arif Aras are currently facing charges after an investigation was initiated into the statements they made during their speeches.
The indictment against Turan and Aras has been accepted, and the defendants are set to be tried for 5 years and 6 months in prison starting on May 20.
According to details from the indictment, the suspects are accused of not accurately knowing the content of political, legal, judicial, and administrative events. Their statements were deemed to be of a misleading and disinforming nature, aimed at manipulating public opinion.
