A tragic accident in Kemerburgaz, the Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul, has left another family grieving. Muhammet Gürcan Koçak, a 25-year-old man from Sarıyer, had asked his father for permission to go for a ride in his cousin’s UTV vehicle. On his way back home, Koçak was involved in an accident that cost him his life, bringing devastating news to his family in the night.
Teams who arrived at the scene confirmed the loss of 25-year-old Koçak’s life in the accident.
The pain and grief of losing a loved one in an accident are shared by many families. Soner Koçak, the father of Muhammet Gürcan Koçak, called for authorities to apprehend the driver responsible for his son’s death. The first to offer support to the grieving father was Özer Aci, the father of Oguz Murat Aci, who had lost his life in a similar accident in the same area last year. Upon hearing the news of the accident, Aci rushed to be by Koçak’s side, saying, “I wanted to be with him.”
Reacting to the heartbreaking accident, Özer Aci expressed his sorrow, especially as it coincided with the first anniversary of his own son’s passing. “I remembered my son again,” he said.
The similarities between the two accidents have not gone unnoticed, with Özer Aci pointing out the harsh reality of the situation. “Unfortunately, accidents can happen, but what comes after the accident is a second tragedy. Isn’t that a pity?” he questioned.
As the two families come together in their shared grief, the community mourns the loss of these young lives and hopes for greater awareness and safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
