Two IT Firms Achieve Elite Status in Cloud Computing Sector

Hungarian Tech Companies 4iG Nyrt. and E-Group ICT Software Zrt. Receive IPCEI Certification

Gergely Fábián, Secretary of State for Industrial Policy and Technology, recently met with the representatives of two Hungarian tech companies, 4iG Nyrt. and E-Group ICT Software Zrt. The companies, namely László Blénessy, Deputy Group CEO at 4iG, and Antal Kuthy, CEO of E-Group ICT Software, received IPCEI certification for their projects.

The European Commission approved 19 cloud industry projects to receive IPCEI certification, and two Hungarian companies were among them. 4iG Nyrt.’s “Digital Trust Service” project and E-Group ICT Software Zrt.’s “FedEU.ai” project were both recognized for their innovative work in the industry. The “Digital Trust Service” is a blockchain-based data authentication platform, while the “FedEU.ai” project addresses the global challenge of AI technology, particularly the security of mass data access and processing.

IPCEIs (Important Projects of Common European Interest) are essential for the implementation of the European industrial strategy. These projects play a crucial role in contributing to economic growth, jobs, the green and digital transition, and competitiveness for the Union industry and economy. They bring together knowledge, expertise, financial resources, and economic actors throughout the EU, creating positive spillover effects for the entire Union.

Gergely Fábián congratulated the two Hungarian companies and emphasized that Hungary has been actively participating in the IPCEI process since 2020, under government coordination. He also noted that Hungary is present in the cooperation in the field of hydrogen technology and in the health sector.

The state aims to support ground-breaking projects based on modern technology and intends to continue playing an active role in the development of the sector. With the first two IPCEI-certified projects in the field of cloud infrastructure and services now selected, Hungary is making a significant contribution to the digital transformation of the European industry.

Overall, the certification of the Hungarian companies’ projects is a testament to the country’s commitment to innovation and its growing influence in the tech industry. The government’s support for these projects reflects its dedication to driving the digital transformation and future success of the Hungarian tech sector.
