Two Kyrgyzstan Plane Crash Victims Set to Return Home on December 30

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Kazakhstan are diligently working to bring Kyrgyzstanis injured in a recent plane crash in Aktau back home. The press service of the Kyrgyz Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reported that on behalf of President Sadyr Japarov, comprehensive measures are being taken to ensure the safe return of the victims.

Representatives of Kyrgyzstan’s competent services have traveled to Aktau and are working closely with the victims to provide necessary assistance. Efforts are also underway to transport a Kyrgyzstani individual born in 1998 back to Kyrgyzstan via a specially equipped aircraft. Other victims, whose health conditions are stable, will be accompanied by representatives and relatives and will be sent to Kyrgyzstan on December 30.

Furthermore, the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic is actively involved in organizing compensation payments for the victims. The exact amount of compensation will be determined shortly and distributed to those affected. Additionally, negotiations with AZAL airline representatives are ongoing to address insurance payments declared as part of the compensation for the victims.

The tragic incident occurred when an Azerbaijan Airlines flight from Baku to Grozny crashed near Aktau Airport on December 25. Despite the efforts to land in Russia, the plane met its untimely fate. As reported by Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev, 38 individuals lost their lives, while 29 survivors were hospitalized. Among the deceased are six citizens of Kazakhstan, while three citizens of Kyrgyzstan are among the hospitalized. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this devastating event.
