UN commits to helping locate missing Azerbaijani individuals from Karabakh conflict

Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children’s Issues, Bahar Muradova, recently held a meeting with the Chair of the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, Nahla Haidar, at the UN headquarters in New York.

During the meeting, Muradova presented information on Azerbaijani war prisoners, missing individuals, and hostages as a result of Armenia’s 30-year military aggression. She highlighted that during the First Karabakh War, a total of 4,844 Azerbaijani citizens went missing, including 321 women and 54 children. Haidar stressed the importance of providing documentation and concrete evidence for investigations on this matter. She expressed readiness for closer cooperation with Azerbaijan to determine the fate of the missing Azerbaijanis.
