Unveiling the Truth: Investigating Ekrem İmamoğlu’s Diploma Authenticity
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has taken further steps in the investigation into the diploma of Ekrem İmamoğlu, the mayor of Istanbul. It was revealed that during the transfer process, the title of Kyrenia American University (UNCN) was used, prompting the Prosecutor’s Office to request all documents and information related to İmamoğlu’s time at both Kyrenia American University and Eastern Mediterranean University.
In addition to requesting information from the universities in TRNC, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office also asked for documents from Istanbul University. Specifically, they requested details regarding the acceptance of the transfer, including who was involved and the procedures followed on September 12, 1990. It was found that the recognition of the relevant university was decided by the Higher Education Executive Committee in 1993, and İmamoğlu was not among the universities eligible for horizontal transfer in 1990.
Ekrem İmamoğlu has been asked to provide certified copies of all documents related to his education at Istanbul University, as well as to clarify whether similar horizontal transactions took place during the specified dates in the investigation report. The investigation is ongoing in order to verify the authenticity of İmamoğlu’s diploma.
Meanwhile, Devlet Bahçeli, the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), has made a new statement regarding his health status, which is unrelated to the ongoing investigation into İmamoğlu’s diploma. The developments in both cases will continue to be closely monitored.
