Turkey Set to Face Wales in UEFA EURO 2024 Qualification Match
Turkey’s national football team will take the field against Wales in their fourth match of the UEFA 2024 European Championship (EURO 2024) Qualification Group D. Here are the details leading up to the match.
The highly anticipated match between Turkey and Wales will take place on Monday, 19 June. Kick-off will be at 21:45 and the match will be broadcast live on TRT 1.
The Italian referee Fabio Maresca, along with assistant referees Daniele Bindoni and Alberto Tegoni, will be in charge of officiating the game, while Luca Massimi will serve as the fourth official.
Ahead of the competition, Turkey’s Çağlar Söyüncü has been ruled out due to a right back injury.
On the same day, the other Group D match will be between Armenia and Latvia. Croatia, another team in the group, will have a bye on the fourth matchday.
Currently, Turkey leads Group D with 6 points from their previous matches. Croatia sits in second place with 4 points, while Wales is in third place with the same points but a lower goal difference. Armenia is in fourth place with 3 points, and Latvia is in last place with no points.
The group stage will continue until 16-21 November 2023, where the 20 teams that will participate in EURO 2024 will be determined. The top two teams from each of the ten groups will earn the right to participate in the tournament.
