Update on the International Forum Commemorating the 300th Anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi’s Birth
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan recently held a briefing to discuss the outcomes of the International Forum commemorating the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi. The theme of the forum was “The relationship of times and civilizations is the basis of modern peace and development.”
Diplomatic missions, representatives from international organizations, and local and foreign media participated in the event, which took place on October 11, 2024 in Ashgabat.
Speakers at the briefing highlighted the significance of Magtymguly Fragi as a symbol of unity among countries and peoples, promoting principles of humanism, justice, solidarity, and cooperation. The legacy of the great poet continues to shape Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, emphasizing the country’s place in the world and its commitment to peace and cooperation.
The briefing also addressed Turkmenistan’s upcoming celebration of the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality. The country is looking toward the future with a focus on peace, security, and sustainable development, open to new initiatives that foster international cooperation.
Discussions during the briefing centered around the establishment of an international platform for broad and systemic multilateral interaction on global development issues. Participants from 24 countries, including delegations at the head of state level and leaders of international organizations, attended the forum. Over 200 representatives of foreign media covered the event, highlighting the importance of Magtymguly Fragi’s legacy and Turkmenistan’s commitment to international cooperation for a better future.
