Update on Weapons Delivery Operation in Syria
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Military Operations Command in Syria have initiated a “weapons delivery” operation in the city of Homs, as reported by CNN TÜRK.
Despite calls from the new administration in Syria for individuals to surrender their weapons, there are still those who have not complied. These individuals have been identified under the title of a “security operation.”
Residents in the Wadi Zehep and Ikrime neighborhoods have been asked to remain in their homes while security screenings are conducted in the area.
Since the new administration took power in Syria, there have been efforts to collect weapons from former soldiers and individuals armed by the regime. Approximately 30 thousand weapons have been surrendered so far, but there are still army members who have not complied.
The operation in Homs is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the area by urging all individuals to surrender their weapons to the authorities.
