Today, the opening ceremony of the first Uzbek-Chinese interregional forum took place in Urumqi, People’s Republic of China. The event was attended by a government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjayev, governors of the regions of Uzbekistan, heads of provinces of the PRC, and representatives of various ministries and departments, as well as more than 1,200 business community members from both countries.

During the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov highlighted the main directions, achievements, and prospects for the further development of the Uzbek-Chinese relations of comprehensive strategic partnership.

The forum also featured meetings in B2B and G2B formats, with the aim of signing a significant package of trade contracts and investment agreements. Additionally, the “Made in Uzbekistan” exhibition was organized to showcase the production, export, and investment potential of Uzbekistan to Chinese business circles.

The opening of the forum precedes the three-day state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to China, which is scheduled to begin on January 23. The forum and the upcoming visit underline the growing cooperation and partnership between Uzbekistan and China in various sectors and reflect the commitment of both countries to further strengthen their bilateral ties.
