US Continues Intelligence Sharing with Ukraine for Defense

US continues sharing intelligence with Ukraine for self-defense
According to two US defense officials, the US continues to share intelligence with Ukraine that can help its troops defend themselves. However, the sharing of intelligence that Ukrainian forces could use for offensive targeting of Russian troops has been “scaled back.” This decision was made to avoid being seen as actively supporting Ukraine in striking Russia.
The pause in military aid deliveries earlier this week was also attributed to the same reason. Despite this, the US remains committed to providing information that could assist Ukraine in protecting itself.
One key aspect of support for Ukraine is Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, Starlink, which is crucial for communication on the battlefield. The officials confirmed that Starlink remains active and continues to provide important communication capabilities to Ukrainian forces.
It was previously reported that the Trump administration had ordered a partial halt to the intelligence shared with Ukraine to aid in their fight against Russia. However, the current approach seems to strike a balance between supporting Ukraine’s defense needs and avoiding direct involvement in offensive actions.
