US Embassy Economic Team Visits Baku Steel Company
The economic team from the US Embassy in Baku recently visited the Baku Steel Company facilities in Sumgayit as part of efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, and trade.
During their visit, the team was introduced to the production of seamless steel pipes, which are essential for the oil and gas industry, with the United States being a significant market for these products. They also explored the manufacturing of ferroalloys, supplied to American metallurgists.
The Baku Steel Company is recognized as one of the leading enterprises in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector, focusing on export-oriented products that generate high added value. The embassy stressed the significance of fostering industrial partnerships with Azerbaijan and expressed a keen interest in expanding these collaborations for mutual economic benefits.
Notably, the Baku Steel Company and the Baku Non-Ferrous and Foundry Company underwent modernization efforts in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Today, they provide products not only to the United States but also to markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
This visit underscores the United States’ commitment to strengthening economic ties with Azerbaijan, particularly in the industrial sector, and highlights the potential for future collaborations.
