Uzbek Medical Professionals to Complete Internships in South Korea

A Long-Term Program for Improving Medical Skills to be Launched in Korean Specialized Centers

Uzbek medical workers are set to receive training in specialized centers in South Korea, as reported by the presidential press service.

The agreement was reached during negotiations involving President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol. The focus will be on preparing and expediting the implementation of medical cluster projects, including the establishment of a hospital for adults and an oncology clinic.

Furthermore, a long-term program aimed at enhancing the skills of medical personnel will be launched in specialized centers across Korea.

The collaboration between the two countries in the field of education has been steadily growing, with the first Uzbek-Korean rectors’ forum taking place in March of last year. Plans are already in place for the next meeting to be held next year.

Additionally, a proposal to establish an institute modeled after the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Uzbekistan has received support.

In a bid to further enhance cooperation, a training center for Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence is set to open at the Academy of Public Administration in Tashkent, in partnership with the Korean Institute of Public Administration and the National Institute of Human Resources.
