Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs Responds to Inquiry on Visa-Free Travel in Thailand

Uzbekistan Awaits Official Notification From Thai Authorities on Visa-Free Regime

Akhror Burkhanov, press secretary of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, has stated that Uzbekistan has not yet received official notification from the Thai authorities regarding the introduction of a visa-free regime for Uzbek citizens. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs has mentioned that there is a government resolution to simplify the visa procedure, and that the consular department will send instructions to diplomatic missions. Official information will be published on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.

It was previously reported that the Thai government has approved measures to develop the kingdom’s tourism industry. This includes the abolition of the visa regime for up to 60 days for tourists from 36 countries, increasing the number of countries with visa-free entry from 57 to 93, which now includes Uzbekistan.

The visa facilitation procedure, introduced unilaterally, may be subject to cancellation after a certain period. Burkhanov emphasized that an official note from the Thai Foreign Ministry is still awaited.

As the situation unfolds, Uzbek citizens are encouraged to stay updated on any developments regarding the visa-free regime between Uzbekistan and Thailand.
