Uzbek President Approves Strategic Partnership Agreement with Qatar
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has officially ratified the agreement on establishing a bilateral strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar. The agreement, which was signed by both parties in April 2024, aims to enhance cooperation in various key areas including political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
The agreement outlines specific areas of collaboration such as education and science, healthcare, culture and cultural heritage, tourism, and sports. It also includes provisions for sharing experiences in training and professional development for specialists in economics, governance, diplomacy, and tourism.
Moreover, the document sets the framework for expanding mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, attracting and promoting investments, and establishing joint ventures in the private sector in line with international agreements. It also establishes mechanisms for coordinating efforts in combating international terrorism, extremism, illicit drug trafficking, organized crime, and human trafficking.
The ratification of this agreement marks a significant step towards strengthening the relationship between Uzbekistan and Qatar and fostering greater cooperation in a wide range of areas. It reflects the commitment of both countries to working together for mutual benefit and towards regional peace and stability.
