Uzbek President Greets Iranian Leader, Emphasizes Strengthening Relationship
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the newly elected President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian on July 17. The two leaders discussed various issues pertaining to the development of Uzbek-Iranian relations and the expansion of practical cooperation in trade, investment, and transportation.
During the conversation, President Mirziyoyev congratulated President Pezeshkian on his victory in the presidential election and wished him great success in his new role. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the increasing volume of trade turnover, cargo transportation, joint projects, and enterprises between Uzbekistan and Iran in recent years. They highlighted the importance of implementing previously reached agreements at the highest level and promoting cooperation projects in energy, the chemical industry, agriculture, the food industry, and other sectors.
Additionally, the leaders discussed current issues on the regional agenda, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration.
