Uzbek President Offers Condolences to U.S. President Trump after Aviation Tragedy
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has extended his heartfelt condolences to U.S. President Donald Trump in the wake of a tragic aviation accident near Ronald Reagan Airport in Washington, which claimed the lives of numerous individuals.
In a statement released by the Uzbek government, President Mirziyoyev expressed his sympathy for the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as the entire American nation, in the face of this terrible tragedy.
The incident occurred on the night of January 30, when an American Airlines passenger plane and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter collided mid-air near Ronald Reagan Airport before crashing into the Potomac River.
American Airlines has reported that there were a total of 64 individuals on board the plane, including 60 passengers and four crew members. The U.S. Army confirmed that three soldiers were on board the helicopter, which was identified as a UH-60 Black Hawk based in Virginia.
As search and rescue efforts continue, authorities have recovered the bodies of 28 deceased passengers from the Potomac River. Despite the challenging conditions, the interagency rescue operation remains ongoing.
The tragic incident has left both Uzbekistan and the United States in mourning, with President Mirziyoyev’s message of solidarity underscoring the importance of international support and compassion during times of crisis.
