Uzbekistan Airports Break Records in 2024 with 13.5 Million Passengers Served
Uzbekistan Airports have closed the year 2024 with an impressive record of serving 13.5 million passengers, marking a significant 30% increase compared to the previous year. This growth was seen in both international and domestic flights, as well as in cargo transportation, which saw a notable 23% rise.
According to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports, the country’s international airports managed a total of 113,622 flights in 2024, with 80,213 being international flights and 33,409 domestic flights. This represented a substantial 33% growth compared to the year 2023.
Throughout the year, Uzbekistan’s airports catered to a total of 13,503,199 passengers, with 2,480,359 on domestic routes and 11,022,840 on international routes, showing a remarkable 30% increase compared to the previous year’s figures.
Resident airlines operated 73,969 flights and carried 8,735,996 passengers, while foreign airlines conducted 39,653 flights and transported 4,767,203 passengers during the year.
In terms of cargo transportation, Uzbekistan’s airports handled 87,461 tons of goods and mail in 2024, which was a significant 23% increase from the previous year’s 71,314 tons.
Moreover, the year 2024 also saw the introduction of 9 new passenger airlines operating in Uzbekistan’s airports. These included airlines from Spain, Hungary, Malaysia, Poland, Qatar, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, and an Arab airline, bringing more connectivity to the region.
With these record-breaking numbers and the addition of new airlines, Uzbekistan’s aviation sector is poised for further growth and development in the coming years.
