Uzbekistan Airways to Launch Direct Flights between Tashkent and Lahore
Uzbekistan Airways has announced that they will be starting direct flights between Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and Lahore, Pakistan, beginning on November 15, 2024. This new route is aimed at improving connectivity between the two countries and making travel easier for both business and tourism purposes.
Negotiations are reportedly underway for additional flight routes between various cities in Uzbekistan and Pakistan, further strengthening the air travel network between the two nations.
The decision to launch these direct flights comes as a result of the Uzbekistan government’s efforts to streamline the visa application process for Pakistani nationals. This move has been welcomed by Najeeb Vohra, Uzbekistan’s honorary consul in Pakistan, who believes that it will bring significant benefits to the Pakistani community. Vohra highlighted the importance of reestablishing connections between the regions and the positive impact it will have on bilateral relations.
Vohra also emphasized the importance of time for business travelers and expressed his confidence that the new direct air route will save valuable time during travel. He believes that these flights will strengthen business ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and create opportunities for new collaborative projects.
