An Uzbekistan Airways plane experienced damage to its nose section due to hail while flying from Krasnoyarsk to Tashkent on August 3rd. Despite the alarming circumstances, the airline confirmed that the Airbus A320 ultimately landed safely at Tashkent airport with no injuries reported.
Photos of the damaged plane circulated on social media, causing concern among the public. However, the press service of the airline reassured the public that the hail damage has since been repaired, and the aircraft is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance.
In a statement, the airline explained, “The plane encountered hail in a cloud zone, which damaged the nose section of the aircraft. The plane continued its journey as planned and safely landed at Tashkent airport. Fortunately, there were no injuries to passengers or crew members.”
