Uzbekistan and Belarus Collaborate on Education Cooperation

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Rakhmatulla Nazarov recently met with Belarusian Minister of Education Andrei Ivanets in Minsk to discuss collaboration in the field of education. The meeting followed the official visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to Uzbekistan in February, where agreements were made regarding preschool and school education.

The Belarusian side commended the outcomes of President Lukashenko’s visit and expressed readiness to work towards fulfilling the agreed upon tasks. Both parties emphasized the importance of implementing the points of the “Roadmap” and the Cooperation Program in the educational sector.

Key areas of cooperation highlighted during the meeting included the establishment of branches of Belarusian universities in Uzbekistan, the execution of “pilot projects” in vocational education across different regions, and the facilitation of internships and exchanges in the field of preschool education.

As the meeting concluded, an agreement was made to further explore the discussed issues through collaboration between the relevant authorities of both countries. This marks a significant step towards strengthening educational ties between Uzbekistan and Belarus.
