Uzbekistan and India Discuss Strategic Partnership Expansion at Astana SCO Summit
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, recently held a meeting with India’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, in Astana. The two officials engaged in discussions regarding the current state of bilateral relations and explored opportunities for further strengthening ties between their countries.
During the meeting, the focus was on expanding the scope of the Uzbek-Indian strategic partnership. Both parties emphasized the importance of promoting economic diplomacy, enhancing transport connectivity, developing mutual tourism, supporting educational exchanges, and implementing joint promising projects in various fields.
Bakhtiyor Saidov shared his thoughts on the meeting, stating, “Our agenda was extensive and focused on expanding the scope of the Uzbek-Indian strategic partnership. Special attention was given to promoting economic diplomacy, enhancing transport connectivity, developing mutual tourism, supporting educational exchanges, and implementing joint promising projects in various fields.”
The meeting took place as part of the SCO summit events in Astana, where President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also participated. The Indian delegation was led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar during the summit events on July 3-4.
The discussions held between the officials signify a commitment to furthering cooperation and collaboration between Uzbekistan and India in various areas, paving the way for enhanced bilateral relations in the future.
